Our Story

La Prep began its journey in the 1980s in Montreal under the name ‘Café Supreme,’ an upscale café-bistro that quickly became known for its fresh offerings and chic style. After years of national growth, a pivotal transformation happened in 2010 when the brand was reimagined as La Prep. A modern name for a modern brand.

In 2017, Naveen Seth, a long-time master franchisee and a passionate believer in hospitality, acquired the entire chain. Having first arrived in Canada from India in the late 1980s, Naveen brought with him the essence of his upbringing. Where meals were about community, warmth, and nourishment. From his modest beginnings to becoming the CEO of La Prep, Naveen infused the brand with his values: authenticity, creativity, and a genuine love for food that brings people together.

A Message from Our CEO

“Food has always been more than fuel”

It’s been an expression of care, culture, and connection. Growing up in India, meals were when families came together, stories were shared, and bonds were built. That spirit still drives La Prep today. Whether our guests are creating their own signature salad or indulging in one of our comfort classics, we want them to find joy, flavour, and balance in every bite.

The new La Prep is about empowering our guests to ‘Find Their Balance’, to eat according to their mood, goals, and lifestyle. From our innovative ‘Social Bistro’ concept with communal harvest tables to our open kitchens that showcase the art of preparation, we’re reshaping what quick-service dining means in Canada.”
